I started my Clifton StrengthsFinder coach training in Paarl (near Cape Town), South Africa, today. Joe Cavanaugh of Gallup is here training a handful of coaches - only 6 of us.
I realized anew today how powerful it is to know what your five top talents are. It is difficult to explain. It is like knowing the top features of your new PDA, or like knowing about the strong points of your new SUV. I can now concentrate on what I do best, and performance, happiness and success will follow... I'm not necessarily talking about financial success - more like bearing lots of fruit for God in the way that He wants you to.
My top five talents are:
- Activator,
- Belief,
- Responsibility,
- Command, and
- Communication.
There has never been a person like you... There will never again be a person like you... You are truly unique. The probability of another person having your top ten talents (out of 34), in the same order, is one out of more than 400 trillion!
You were created by God with specific things in mind. Now is the time to achieve these things. Consider it a challenge...
Do you think it would be a good idea to know your talents and learn more about turning them into strengths? I thought so! If you do, order yourself a copy of Living Your Strengths. It includes a code for the online assessment and gives you all the information you need with it.
Go, and find out what your top five talents are. I hope you will turn them into strengths in no time!
I found your post today. I'm heading out to CA to do Strengths Performance coaching with Gallup at Mosaic church in Pasadena. I was trying to see if I could figure out all the various coaching opportunities available when I stumbled on your site. How are you using your training?

Diane
I am currently in the process of helping an organic community of disciples find its feet. We will try to grow and develop into a every-member-functioning community, doing life together.
I want to help my fellow Jesus-followers there to discover their talents and learn how to grow them into strengths.
Knowing my top five talent themes has set me free to really pursue new opportunities encouraging their use. I will also be using my coaching ability to help family and friends receive knowledge of what gems were placed inside them by our generous Father.
This is but two simple examples of an endless array of possible uses of the coaching. Do not let your excitement or future plans be limited by them. Think big!
All very exciting stuff. Let me know what you think of the training and how you plan to use it...
Regards
Dries

Hi this is Frank from England saw your post today
I became a Faith Strengths Performance Coach last year and my top 5 are
Connectedness,
Learner,
Analytical,
Strategic and
Focus
Found it really useful to know these and try to develop them further. I have now worked with quite a lot of people from various Christian backgrounds to develop their strengths.I get a real buzz out of this.
I do value the Rick Warren SHAPE structure of Spiritual Gift(s) Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experiences as a way towards finding Gods plan and purpose for your life and your top 5 really help with the "A" part of SHAPE which is identifying your natural abilities well and i believe these can add greater clarity to how to deliver your spiritual gifts in a way which works best with your personality.
Am interested in how you are getting on using your top 5 now and hope it is going well.Frank.
